Recently moved to Pittsfield? Enroll today! If your student is currently enrolled full time in a Pittsfield Public School, no registration is required.

Please note: Pre-Kindergarten registrations will not be accepted until after the Pre-K lottery process has concluded.

Kindergarten Students must be 5 years old by Sept 1, 2025.

(Children born between September 2, 2019- September 1, 2020; No exceptions.)

Last day for Intradistrict Transfer requests - July 15

Student Registration

School Choice (Non-Pittsfield Residents) Must Apply HERE before Registering for placement in the Pittsfield Public School District.

For In District Transfers (Pittsfield Residents) Must Apply HERE before July 15, 2025.

To Apply for CTE at Taconic, please go the the Taconic Website. For non-Pittsfield residents, no School Choice form is required, only the CTE Application followed by the Student Registration once accepted.

To change your student's address please provide one proof of residence to the attending school.

2026-2027 Registration

Registration for the 2026-2027 school year will open February 2nd.

STUDENT REGISTRATION PROCESS

To register a new student for the Pittsfield Public Schools district please follow the step by step instructions below. A valid email address will be required to continue.

Pre-Register (Please allow up to 48 hours for the Pre-Registration to be accepted.)

Once accepted, you will receive an email to create your PowerSchool account.

When signed in you will have access to the required forms/upload areas.

Please gather the following six documents to prepare for the Registration Process:

Valid PARENT or LEGAL GUARDIAN Photo ID: State-issued ID Driver's license or Passport
Birth Certificate
Immunizations
Last physical exam record
Proof of Occupancy: Utility Bill (Items should be within the past 30 days WITH the service address): Oil/Gas/Electric/Cable/Landline
Proof Of Residence (1 Document from below required): Copy of Deed/Lease Agreement, Most Recent Mortgage/Rental Statement (within 60 days, Letter/Legal Affidavit dated and signed by landlord confirming tenancy, identifying all occupants and record of most recent rent payment, Section 8 Agreement

The following documents are not required by all students.

Middle and High School Students: the student’s transcript and most recent grades.
Students with an IEP / 504 Plan: a copy of the student’s Individual Education or 504 Plan.
- Students with IEPs are subject to a longer registration wait time to determine suitable placement.
