The Pre Kindergarten Program is integrated; serving students on IEPs who have been identified as having special needs as well as “community” peer role models. Children on IEPs who have been identified as having special needs are guaranteed placement. If your child has an IEP or you would like your child to be evaluated, please contact Katie Darling at kdarling@pittsfied.net. Scheduling an evaluation does not guarantee placement.

The Pittsfield Public Schools operates a full-day Special Education Integrated Preschool Program at all eight of our Elementary Schools for children who are four years old by September 1st and are residents of Pittsfield. The Preschool Program is integrated; that is, it serves both students on IEPs who have been identified as having special needs as well as “community” peer role models. Children on IEPs who have been identified as having special needs are guaranteed placement; there are a limited number of openings available for community peers each year.

 *PLEASE NOTE: *The 3-year old program is a half-day Special Education Integrated Preschool Program for children who will be three years old by September 1st, there is one classroom each at Conte Community School, Crosby Elementary School, and Morningside Community School. We also have a “district” classroom that serves the remaining 5 elementary schools; Allendale Elementary School, Capeless Elementary School, Egremont Elementary School, Stearns Elementary School and Williams Elementary School.

Transportation is provided.
