403(b) Tax Sheltered Annuities

The Pittsfield Public Schools is pleased to offer 403(b) tax sheltered annuities to eligible school department employees.

457 Plans

The city of Pittsfield (including the School Department) also offers payroll deductions for 457 deferral Compensation Plans, which provide a similar vehicle for retirement planning. Information on the 457 plans is available through the Treasurer's office at City Hall.

529 Plans

529 Plans are a tax-advantaged way to save money for future college or career training costs. Investors may use the funds themselves or for a family member.

Several investment companies are offering reduced fees on 529 Plans to any Pittsfield Public Schools employees. Employees invest directly with the funds and not through a payroll deduction. For more information contact the companies listed below.
