The ALICE program was authored by a police officer and is now the leading active shooter response program in the U.S.

The purpose of ALICE (Alert, Lockdown, Inform, Counter, Evacuate) training is to prepare individuals to handle the threat of an Active Shooter. ALICE teaches individuals to participate in their own survival, while leading others to safety.

Parents are invited to attend an ALICE informational session offered by the Pittsfield Police Department and the Pittsfield School Department on Tuesday, May 19, 2015 from 8:30-9:30 am. The session will take place at the Pittsfield Boys and Girls Club, Melville Street, Pittsfield.
