Student Registration Process

To register a new student for the Pittsfield Public Schools district please follow the step by step instructions below. A valid email address will be required to continue.

Please gather the following documents to prepare for the Registration Process:

  • Valid PARENT or LEGAL GUARDIAN  Photo ID: State-issued ID.
  • Driver's license or Passport
  • Birth Certificate
  • Immunizations
  • Last physical exam record
  • Proof of Residence: such as a current utility bill or rental agreement.
  • Online Home Language Survey

The following documents are not required by all students. 

  • Middle and High School Students: the student’s transcript and most recent grades.
  • Students with an IEP / 504 Plan: a copy of the student’s Individual Education or 504 Plan.

If your household doesn't have access to a computer or smartphone, PPS can provide access to the technology needed to register your child. Please call the following number to schedule an appointment. 413-499-9507

Step 1

Pre-Registration Form

Please fill out the Pre-Registration form using your child's FULL legal name (FIRST, MIDDLE, and LAST) in the Pre-Registration form. Once your pre-registration form has been verified you will receive an email with instructions on how to set up your parent account and complete the registration process. Create Account
1. Open an Internet Browser. Copy and paste the following link into the address bar. 2. https://pittsfieldschools.powerschool.com/public 3. Click on "Create New User" Tab. 4. Fill in all of the required information. 5. DESE Home Language Survey Encuesta DESE sobre el idioma del hogar

   After creating an account a verification link will be sent from PowerSchool to the provided email address. When verification is complete the new account will then have access to link a student and start the pre-registration forms for Pittsfield Public Schools. * Your login information isn't recorded in the PPS database. Please save your account login credentials in your own personal records. Thank you! *

Upon successful login into your Parent PowerSchool account your main dashboard will be displayed. On the left hand side of the screen click the "Forms" link under the Navigation tab which will bring you to Step 3.

Student Documents 

Gather the following REQUIRED DOCUMENTS:

Transcripts and IEPs are not required by all students. 

  • Middle and High School Students: the student’s transcript and most recent grades.
  • Students with an IEP / 504 Plan: a copy of the student’s Individual Education 504 Plan.

Please upload the required documents to your Parent PowerSchool Account. On the "Documents Submission" page click on the "Upload" button to attach and send the required documents to PPS Registration for approval.
