Is there any orientation for students moving from grade 5 to grade 6?
Yes. A step-up day is provided for all students currently enrolled in
the Pittsfield Public Schools. This short orientation program is
coordinated through the elementary schools with support of the receiving
middle school. In addition, a district “First Day” is provided for all
grade 6 students at the start of the school year. A letter mailed to
homes during the summer, or available through the school’s office,
provides details regarding this orientation program.
How do I register my child for grades 6-8?
If your child is currently enrolled in the Pittsfield Public Schools,
he/she will be automatically registered for the next school year. If
you are new to Pittsfield, please use the "Online Registration" link on the left to get started or click here. The process includes both completing an online form and submitting paperwork digitally or via our building drop box.
