Elementary Registration

Registration for Elementary School, Grades 1-5

How do I register my child for elementary school?

If your child is currently enrolled in the Pittsfield Public Schools, he/she will be automatically registered for the next school year.

If you are new to Pittsfield, please see the "Online Registration" link on the left to begin the process or click here.

What do I need to enroll?
  • Valid PARENT or LEGAL GUARDIAN Photo ID: State-issued ID.
  • Driver's license or Passport
  • Birth Certificate
  • Immunizations
  • Last physical exam record
  • Proof of Residence: such as a current utility bill or rental agreement.
  • Middle and High School Students: the student’s transcript and most recent grades.
  • Students with an IEP: a copy of the student’s Individual Education Plan.
Is there any orientation for students moving from grade 5 to grade 6?

Yes. A step-up day is provided for all students currently enrolled in the Pittsfield Public Schools. This short orientation program is coordinated through the elementary schools with support of the receiving middle school. In addition, a district “First Day” is provided for all grade 6 students at the start of the school year. A letter mailed to homes during the summer, or available through the school’s office, provides details regarding this orientation program.
