Career/Vocational Technical Education is available at Pittsfield High School and Taconic High School.

Pittsfield Public Schools offers rigorous Career/Vocational Technical Education (CVTE) programs to high-school students residing in Pittsfield and those from throughout Western Massachusetts. We welcome you to take a look at our programs that prepare students for postsecondary education and high-wage, high-skill, and high-demand careers. Students enrolled in Career/Vocational Technical Education programs take the same core academic courses offered to all students.

First year CVTE students enroll in a Career Exploratory course, where they spend time in every vocational program that school offers. At the end of this exploratory process, students are enrolled into a specific program through graduation. Program placement is based on the criteria contained in the admissions policy.

Students residing outside of Pittsfield may also apply to the district’s CVTE programs. There are specific rules and laws relating to nonresident acceptance; more information may be obtained through my office. The process of accepting nonresident students into CVTE programs differs from the school choice application process.

Please complete the application form below to apply for one of our programs. If you have any questions, feel free to contact the CVTE office.
