403(b) Tax Sheltered Annuities

The Pittsfield Public Schools is pleased to offer 403(b) tax sheltered annuities to eligible school department employees.

Effective January 1, 2009, please contact MidAmerica regarding any questions you may have regarding your 403(b) Plan.  All plan-related transactions (other than investment decisions) must now be validated by MidAmerica.  These include all distributions, hardships, loans, and processing of salary reduction agreements, which must be validated before they may be set up with payroll and your contributions sent to your vendor.

529 Plans are a tax-advantaged way to save money for future college or career training costs.  Investors may use the funds themselves or for a family member. 

Several investment companies are offering reduced fees on 529 Plans to any Pittsfield Public Schools employees.  Employees invest directly with the funds and not through a payroll deduction.  For more information contact the companies listed below.
