Head Coach-Varsity Boys Soccer, Fall 2009

• Location: Taconic High School
• Salary: paid position
• Benefits: n/a
• Duties: Candidate will be responsible for providing leadership and instruction in the personal and athletic development of student-athletes. Ability to teach fundamental soccer techniques playing rules, and game strategies is required.
       Excellent communications skills and a philosophy consistent with the mission and goals of the school are expected. Candidate should have the ability to convey messages of sportsmanship, work ethic, and responsibility to one’s team.
        Additional responsibilities of the position include conducting well-organized practices, complying with MIAA rules, and completing MIAA-required coaching workshops.
• Experience:  Experience as coach at the high school level is preferred, but not required. Season runs from late August through early November.

       Excellen communications skills, ability to work effectively with varsity coach, and a philosophy consistent with the mission and goals of the school are expected. Strong emphasis put on developing players’ softball knowledge and preparing them for competition at the varsity level.
       Additional responsibilities of the position include conducting well-organized practices, complying with MIAA rules, and completing MIAA-required coaching workshops.

• Salary:  Range: $2,194-$2,806 depending on experience

• Duties: Candidate will be responsible for providing leadership and instruction in the personal and athletic development of student-athletes. Ability to teach fundamental softball techniques that challenge the physical, mental, and personal abilities of student-athletes is required.
       Ability to work effectively with school administration and a philosophy consistent with the mission and goals of the school are expected. Candidate should have the ability to convey messages of sportsmanship, work ethic, and responsibility to one’s team. Strong emphasis put on conditioning, strength training, meet management, fund raising, and organization of team workouts. Season runs from late March through late May.

Duties	Coordinate, document and monitor the implementation of the Second Step Curriculum in grades K-5. Coordinate, document and monitor the implementation of the Steps to Respect Curriculum in grades K-5. Participate with Violence Prevention Specialist in providing SS/S2R training for new staff. Coordinate and facilitate a bullying prevention committee within the school to plan implementation of a Bullying Prevention Program. (Approximately 1 hour monthly) Meet 1 hour monthly with the Violence Prevention School Adjustment Counselor. Meet 1 hour quarterly with the District-wide Team.

Duties	Provide competent instruction & support to emotionally and behaviorally disturbed students. Work cooperatively with other personnel in planning and implementing an effective program. Students range from Grade 6-12. Subjects to be taught: Reading/ELA, Social Studies Teacher should have the ability to differentiate instruction to meet the needs of the individual student. Perform other duties associated with the position of teacher, as required.
