You have a right to go to school
If you live in one of the following situations:
- In a shelter, motel, vehicle or campground
- On the street
- In an abandoned building or trailer
- Doubled-up with friends or relatives
Then, you have a right to get help from a district liaison to:
- Immediately enroll in school
- Choose your old school or the school closest to where you are staying now
- Get transportation to and from school
- Get automatic free breakfast and lunch
- Receive the same services as other students
- Attend classes even while the school and you seek to resolve a dispute over enrollment
