You have a right to go to school

If you live in one of the following situations:

  • In a shelter, motel, vehicle or campground
  • On the street
  • In an abandoned building or trailer
  • Doubled-up with friends or relatives

Then, you have a right to get help from a district liaison to:

  • Immediately enroll in school
  • Choose your old school or the school closest to where you are staying now
  • Get transportation to and from school
  • Get automatic free breakfast and lunch
  • Receive the same services as other students
  • Attend classes even while the school and you seek to resolve a dispute over enrollment
