Elementary Registration

Registration for Elementary School, Grades 1-5

How do I register my child for elementary school?

If your child is currently enrolled in the Pittsfield Public Schools, he/she will be automatically registered for the next school year. If you are new to Pittsfield, you can register your child in the following ways.

Please see the "Open Registration" link on the left to begin the process using the online registration form. You will then need to complete the process by bringing in the required paperwork to the office listed there.

What do I need to enroll?
  • child’s birth certificate
  • proof of address (utility bill with service address or rental agreement)
  • child’s immunization records and most recent doctor’s physical exam records
  • any school records
Is there any orientation for students moving from grade 5 to grade 6?

Yes. A step-up day is provided for all students currently enrolled in the Pittsfield Public Schools. This short orientation program is coordinated through the elementary schools with support of the receiving middle school. In addition, a district “First Day” is provided for all grade 6 students at the start of the school year. A letter mailed to homes during the summer, or available through the school’s office, provides details regarding this orientation program.
