Health Insurance

Dear City/School Employees: The City of Pittsfield's open enrollment for the MIIA/BC Health Insurance Plans will be held April 6 through May 11, 2020.

If you are a current subscriber and are not planning on changing your insurance plan, you do not need to do anything. If you are planning on making a change in health plans, you must make this change during the open enrollment period. Any active employee who currently does not have coverage and would like to enroll must also do so during open enrollment in order to have coverage effective July 1, 2020.

The Annual Health Fair will be held, in City Hall Council Chambers on April 15, 2020, from 2:00 pm to 5:00 pm. The City is pleased to announce that they will be hosting a variety of local Vendors that will be focused on the promotion of Health and Wellness.

If you are not currently enrolled in MII/BC, Guardian Dental Plan or the Flexible Spending Plan and would like to enroll, you must do so during the open enrollment. You may enroll any time during open enrollment or at the special session on April 15, 2020; or you may return your completed application to the Treasurer's office at City Hall (City employees) or to the Mercer Building (School Department employees) any time during the open enrollment period.

Below, you will find the new rates and plans that will be effective July 1, 2020. If you are a new enrollee or adding someone to your current plan, you must provide the required documentation, i.e., a birth certificate or marriage certificate.
